April's block, it's on it's way!

Catherine and I have been busy today cutting fabrics and preparing the packs for April's block.  My hand is healing well but I am still having trouble with the rotary cutter so Catherine has very kindly done all the hard work today!  We've just sealed the last envelope and so I'll be off to the post office first thing in the morning.  So, job completed, and with some extra free time tomorrow, we'll be going to visit a new quilt shop in the local area.

Bye for now

  1. Jackie -- it's so good to see you. You look so cute! Love the colors. Can't wait to see the block. How fun that there is a new quilting shop. Hope your wrist continues to heal.

  2. Yes, those colours look great, can't wait to get the block too. I didn't realise Catherine lived close to you. It is good to have quilting friends close by. Hopefully your wrist will be healed by the time you arrive here.

  3. Jackie, Your fabrics look yummy. Can't wait to see what we are going to do with them! I'm already not sure I want this group to end after 12 months!
I saw this week at quilt group another modern quilting book similar to the one that motivated us. It's called Sunday Morning Quilts. Currently out of stock at The Book Depository but available and on sale at Amazon. Jackie, you get free shipping on Amazon? If so could you order me the book and bring it over with you please.
It has in it ways to use your fabric selveges including knitting them into floor mats. I've just cast on, on my new 15mm needles, so will let you know how it goes. I'm not going to have enough selveges so will just use fabric strips as well. I've also started hand quilting a quilt (haven't hand quilted in a couple of years) making easter chicks and have bought wool to knitt Acacia a beanie for the cold Christchurch days she will get next term. Not enough hours in the day!!! J.

  4. Hi Jackie. Your lovely fabrics arrived yesterday, so looking forward to another challenge. It is so nice to have something drop through the letterbox in these days of emails and texts - takes me back to the 'old days'! Thanks for posting the photo, it is so nice to see you hard at work cutting all the fabrics! Best wishes
